A local program that assists people with disabilities has been awarded a $100-thousand grant in the NYS Budget. CDS Monarch will receive a $100-thousand dollar grant for "Warrior Salute". The "Warrior Salute" program helps veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and traumatic brain injuries to successfully transition back into their communities.

The grant funding was written into the New York State Budget as part of the Department of Mental Hygiene and Office of Mental Health section. Webster-based CDS Monarch requested the money to help fund healthcare and treatment services to veterans in the "Warrior Salute" program. These services include mental health counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing services, medical appointment support and transportation, and emergency services such as Urgent Care, Hospital or Pharmacy needs for Veterans not covered by traditional VA services.
