Warrior Salute™, a service of CDS Monarch, along with the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation, Nazareth College Office of Veterans’ Affairs, and Monroe Community College, are proud to present a day-long symposium to help Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury, begin a successful transition to regain their lives. The Symposium will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 8:00am-5:00pm in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center at Monroe Community College.

Sometimes the hardest journey for our servicemen, women and their families is the one home. Serve. Honor. Support. brings together the experiences of Veterans and families, with the expertise of clinical staff specializing in Veteran treatment, and Dr. Charles Hoge, a retired U.S. Army Veteran and author of “Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior.” This is a progressive outreach initiative offering not only guidance for our Veterans, but a community of care for our servicemen and women, their families, and their caregivers.

“Rochester has proven itself to be a Veteran-friendly community. By hosting this conference, we are hoping to increase awareness about the supports available to Veterans and their families, right here in the Rochester community. This event will also help us to further educate our community about the ways they can support the Veterans around them who may be struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or a Traumatic Brain Injury,” stated Robert Mixon, Major General, USA (Ret) and Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Staff Development at CDS Monarch.

In addition to a keynote presentation, breakout sessions and resource fair, an awards celebration will be held during the opening presentation. The Veterans Achievement Award, the Individual Supporting Veterans Award, and the Organization Serving Veterans Award, will be presented to honor those committed to helping Veterans in our community.

This event is free for Veterans and General Admission is $25 for all others.
